about ms. amy:
amy ewaldt has been teaching children ages 4 – 13 since 1996. she has developed and taught programs in theatre, dance, musical theatre, literature, art, and preschool enrichment for public schools, private schools, and not-for-profit organizations.
amy recently finished her Master of Education degree from Columbia College Chicago–she was the Graduate Speaker for Commencement, a Follett Fellowship Recipient, and J-Term teacher in Mexico. amy holds state certification for grades K – 9 with middle school endorsements in language arts, earth/space science, and theatre.
you can currently find ms. amy at Menomonee Club for Boys and Girls, an extraordinary not-for-profit in Chicago’s picturesque Old Town neighborhood. amy runs a program called FUN CLUB, a pre-school enrichment program featuring hands-on, constructivist learning. she also co-chairs the Children’s Corner at the Old Town Art Fair each year, along with myriad other tasks, such as keeping Menomonee’s website continually updated!
in her free time, (what’s that?!) amy enjoys horticulture, languages, reading, astronomy, dance, art, rock collecting, and many, many other things…her current pet project is getting her first children’s book published!
